Apple Watch Series 10
The Apple Watch Series 10 marked the largest design update of the standard line to date for its 10th anniversary in autumn 2024, and continues to impress in April 2026 with its extremely flat case and massive wide-angle OLED display. With the introduction of titanium instead of stainless steel and useful new features like sleep apnea detection and a depth sensor, it is a fully equipped everyday companion. While the extremely fast charging noticeably eases daily life, the unchanged battery life of 18 hours remains the classic downside for those who prefer not to charge daily.
Classification and target audience
The Series 10 (released September 2024) is aimed at users who want to take advantage of the full Apple ecosystem, including ECG and Always-On Display, but find the Ultra models too bulky and expensive. In April 2026 – after the release of the Series 11 – it has positioned itself as a highly attractive "previous year's model." It offers nearly all modern premium features in a more elegant and significantly thinner form factor than the competition from Samsung or Google.
Display and case
The wide-angle OLED display is the highlight of the watch: It is available in sizes 42 mm and 46 mm and offers (in the 46 mm version) even slightly more active screen area than the Apple Watch Ultra 2. It is significantly brighter and more readable from oblique angles (up to 2,000 nits peak brightness). The case has shrunk to a record-breaking 9.7 mm. Buyers can choose between lightweight aluminum (including the polished "Diamond Black") and durable titanium (as a replacement for the previous stainless steel). The watch is dustproof to IP6X and water-resistant up to 50 meters.
Performance and hardware
Powered by the S10 chip (including 4-Core Neural Engine), the watch responds absolutely lag-free to all inputs and Siri commands (on-device) even in 2026. A nice hardware upgrade: The built-in speaker can now also be used directly for playing music or podcasts.
The battery life remains at the familiar 18 hours (or 36 hours in power-saving mode). However, Apple compensates for this with the fastest charging system to date: In just 30 minutes, the watch charges from 0 to 80% – perfect for charging it in the morning while showering for the day ahead.
Tracking and smart features
The Series 10 nearly matches the Ultra in terms of sensors:
- Health: In addition to ECG, blood oxygen (region-dependent), and temperature detection, sleep apnea detection is the most important feature that analyzes breathing interruptions during sleep. The Vitals app provides a perfect overview of recovery status every morning.
- Water features: An integrated depth sensor (up to 6 meters) and a water temperature sensor make the watch ideal for snorkeling and swimming, even though it is not certified for actual scuba diving (like the Ultra).
- Everyday use: The double-tap gesture for one-handed operation and the extremely precise noise cancellation during phone calls (thanks to AI voice isolation) work excellently.
Software status
The Apple Watch Series 10 currently runs on watchOS 12, the operating system released in autumn 2025. Thanks to the powerful S10 chip, the watch is expected to receive major watchOS updates until around 2029/2030. The system benefits massively from the intelligent Smart Stack widgets, which display context-sensitive information (e.g., weather alerts or upcoming appointments).
Conclusion and value for money
Since the Series 10 is often traded for prices around €360 to €410 (aluminum version) in April 2026, it is an outstanding deal for iPhone users. It offers the most elegant design in the entire Apple Watch history, a brilliant, huge display, and lightning-fast charging. Those who can forgo multi-day battery life will find the ideal wearable for health, communication, and sports here.
