Honor 400 Pro

The Honor 400 Pro has been on the market since May 2025, and thus it is no longer a new device – which makes it interesting. The manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of €799 has nothing to do with its actual market value; it retails for about €479. For this price, you get a 200 MP main camera, a 50 MP telephoto lens with three times optical zoom, 100-watt wired charging, and an IP68/IP69 certification that outperforms almost everything in this segment. Those expecting a current chip design will be disappointed – however, anyone looking for maximum features per euro will find it hard to do better.

Classification and Target Audience

The 400 Pro is positioned in the upper mid-range market and targets price-conscious buyers who place significant value on camera quality and charging speed. Since the device has already been on the market for over a year, the price drop has done most of the work: at the street price, it competes with devices that offer considerably less hardware. At the MSRP, it would not be a sensible purchase.

Display and Build

The AMOLED display measures 6.7 inches, has a resolution of 2,800 x 1,280 pixels (about 460 ppi), and operates at 120 Hz. With a peak brightness of up to 5,000 nits, it remains easily readable even in direct sunlight. It is protected by glass with Mohs hardness of 4. The dimensions of the device are 160.8 x 76.1 x 8.1 mm and it weighs 205 grams; the frame is made of plastic, while the back is made of glass. The IP68 and IP69 certification covers both submersion and high-pressure water jets – a rarity in this price range.

Performance and Hardware

Inside, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is built on a 4 nm process with a Cortex-X4 core running at 3.0 GHz, five Cortex-A720 cores, and two Cortex-A520 cores, supported by the Adreno 750. This is the penultimate flagship generation from Qualcomm and is more than sufficient for practically any application. The device is offered with 12 GB of RAM and either 256 or 512 GB of storage. The 5,300 mAh battery charges at 100 watts via cable – fully in about 39 minutes – and 50 watts wirelessly. WiFi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 are included, while the USB connection remains at USB 2.0.

Camera System

The camera system is the actual selling point:

• Main camera: 200 MP with f/1.9 – resolution and aperture are at flagship level.
• Telephoto lens: 50 MP with f/2.4 and three times optical zoom, unusually high quality for this price range.
• Ultra-wide angle: 12 MP with a 112-degree field of view – the weakest of the three modules.
• Selfie: 50 MP, supplemented by a 2 MP depth sensor for portrait shots.

Software Status

The device was delivered with Android 15 and MagicOS 10. Honor promises up to six major Android upgrades, which significantly relativizes the age of the device and keeps it usable software-wise well into the 2030s. MagicOS is feature-rich but comes preloaded with installed apps that may feel overwhelming – those who are bothered by this should plan time for cleanup after setup.

Conclusion and Price-Performance Ratio

With an MSRP of €799 and a street price of around €479 (as of July 2026), the Honor 400 Pro is one of the strongest camera packages below the flagship class. The price drop of about 40 percent since its market launch makes the device a price-performance tip – provided it is not purchased at MSRP. Compromises can be found in the plastic frame, the slow USB 2.0 port, and the chip, which is no longer from the current generation.
