Samsung Galaxy S25 FE

The price-performance king of the S series, combining flagship performance with a brilliant 120 Hz display in a more affordable package. While the Exynos 2400 chip ensures smooth daily performance, the device tends to generate noticeable heat during intensive use. Those seeking the full Galaxy AI experience and long update guarantees under €650 will find a highly polished all-rounder here.

Classification and Target Audience

The S25 FE (Fan Edition) fills the gap between the A series and premium flagships. With its 6.7-inch body, it targets users who prefer a large display for streaming and social media. Compared to the Google Pixel 8a, the S25 FE appears significantly more modern and offers a much more powerful triple-camera setup.

Display and Build

The FHD+ panel offers smooth 120 Hz, but struggles somewhat with peak brightness in direct sunlight compared to the more expensive S26 models. Weighing in at 213 g, it feels noticeably bulkier than the standard S26. The design is "refined yet familiar" and closely follows the S25 series.

Performance and Hardware

Inside, the Exynos 2400 works, which, although from the previous year, still reaches flagship levels. The 8 GB of RAM could become a bottleneck according to early tests with future AI demands. Battery life is described as "somewhat low," which could pose challenges for heavy users.

Video and Camera System

The camera system is reliable and allows for 4K video recording at 60 fps on both the front and back, while even supporting 8K recordings. This puts it ahead of the Pixel 8a, which is limited to 4K30 on the front.

Software and Galaxy AI

The S25 FE ships with Android 16 and One UI 8. It provides access to the complete Galaxy AI package (Live Translate, Circle to Search, etc.) and receives an impressive seven years of updates.

Conclusion and Price-Performance Ratio

Starting at around €459 (8/128 GB), the S25 FE is an excellent choice for casual users. It offers more features and a better camera than most mid-range competitors but falls short of the true S26 flagships due to thermal issues and RAM limitations.
