In late summer 2025, Samsung finally ended the endless recycling loop of the old Tab S6 Lite with the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite, giving the entry-level class a modern face. The tablet adopts the contemporary, more bezel-less 10.9-inch design and inherits the solid Exynos 1380 processor from older mid-range models. The absolute trump card remains the included S Pen, which makes the device the perfect digital notepad for students. Even though one has to make do with a conventional 60 Hz TFT display and the lack of water protection, the S10 Lite offers an unbeatable entry into the world of stylus tablets for its significantly reduced street price.

Classification and target audience

The Galaxy Tab S10 Lite is aimed at students, families, and casual couch surfers looking for an affordable tablet with stylus support, but who do not need the performance (or price) of the FE or Ultra models. In the current market (April 2026), it is the absolute base model of the S series and positions itself as a direct, highly attractive alternative to the Apple iPad (10th Gen) or the Lenovo Tab P11.

Display and case

The device finally catches up visually with the modern S class:

• Case: The tablet comes in a simple, sleek aluminum design (available in gray and silver, among other colors). Unlike the slightly more expensive S10-FE series, however, one has to forgo an IP68 certification here – so rain showers or bathtub use should be avoided.
• Display: To maintain the aggressive price point, Samsung has installed a 10.9-inch TFT display (2,112 x 1,320 pixels). It offers solid sharpness and decent colors, but cannot compete with the contrast and viewing angle stability of the AMOLED or IPS panels of its more expensive siblings. Additionally, the refresh rate remains traditionally limited to 60 Hz.

Performance and hardware

Under the hood, Samsung recycles proven components to ensure smooth everyday use:

• Processor: The Exynos 1380 chip (known from the old Tab S9 FE) ensures a smooth operation with standard tasks in combination with 6 GB of RAM (optional 8 GB). YouTube, browsing, and note-taking apps run smoothly, but for demanding 3D games, the graphics details must be significantly reduced.
• Storage & battery: The internal storage starts at a reasonable 128 GB. The biggest plus for budget-conscious users: The MicroSD card slot is still included (expanding storage by up to 2 TB). The energy management is excellent; the battery easily lasts for a full school or university day.

Productivity and cameras

The focus here is undeniably on working with the stylus:

• S Pen: Unlike Apple, where the stylus often has to be purchased separately (and expensively), the S Pen comes right in the box. Thanks to Samsung's "Handwriting Assistant" and a clever "Math Assistant" that recognizes and solves equations written by the stylus, the tablet is a dream for the educational sector.
• Cameras: The 8-megapixel main camera and the 5-megapixel front camera are perfectly sufficient for occasional video calls or photographing blackboard notes. However, one should not expect great photographic wonders in this price range.

Software status

Delivered in autumn 2025 with Android 15, the Tab S10 Lite now runs excellently on Android 16 and One UI 8.0. Samsung promises a pleasantly long update support for the Lite models (with support expected until 2032). The operating system is excellently adapted to the large screen and easily supports split-screen multitasking, allowing one to read a PDF on the left and take notes comfortably on the right.

Conclusion and value for money

While the suggested retail price at launch in August 2025 was still a rather ambitious €449, the price has dramatically dropped. In April 2026, the Galaxy Tab S10 Lite (Wi-Fi version) can often be found in the open market for an incredible €270 to €290. At this fighting price, it is the undisputed number one for anyone looking for a reliable Android tablet for digital notes without breaking the bank.
