LG OLED C5

The C5 is LG's mid-range OLED from the 2025 lineup and has been available since March of that year. The C5 is intended for buyers looking for a balanced all-rounder for living rooms with normal lighting conditions, which can be placed on a piece of furniture. Anyone buying new today should also consider the C6 successor: it is brighter, faster and starts at a considerably lower RRP - while the test scores of the two sets are practically level.

Picture and Panel

With 1165 nits in the 10 percent window, the C5 falls within a healthy mid-range – bright enough for daylight, but far from the flagship models. It features classic WOLED without a tandem structure. The result is a very balanced, calm picture with the well-known OLED strengths in black levels and viewing angles. Dolby Vision and Filmmaker Mode are included.

What’s Missing

HDR10+ is missing as with all LG devices. The second point of criticism is the pricing: an RRP of 3200 euros while the successor starts at 1899 euros can only be justified via the street price.

Conclusion and Price-Performance Ratio

3200 euros RRP for 65 inches, notably lower in retail (as of August 2026). Available from 42 to 83 inches - the widest size selection in this comparison, which makes it interesting for small rooms. In the measurements the C6 is ahead (around 1350 instead of 1165 nits, 165 instead of 144 Hz), while the test scores are level. Because the gap is so small, the price decides: if the C5 drops noticeably below the C6 in clearance sales, it is the better buy - at list price it is not.
